Hi , joined forum about 10 weeks ago as some you may recall my son diagnosed with T2. Today he had results of first Hba1c test since 1/9.... from 64 to 36!!!! The notes from lab said ‘in remission ‘.... we are so pleased and next challenge is to reduce metformin hopefully, but we are both delighted and I particularly wanted to thank the kind people on here who offered support when I was so stressed upon diagnosis, and for all the advice on low carb diet. He is 3 stone lighter and appears to be at least on way to remission. So heartfelt thanks to you all x

Wow! What a fantastic result. He and you should be incredibly proud of yourselves and each other! Good luck maintaining his remission with the reduced medication.... I think he has an excellent chance of success with that weight loss and continuing with the low carb diet. I hope he feels healthier and more confident as a result of the weight loss too.... I know I do.

That’s great news, your son has obviously put in the hard work and this will prevent him from very serious side effects in the future, what a great outcome. Hope he keeps it up x
