Got to go back to eye clinic :(

Thinking of you Alan. I hope that appointment comes through quickly.

Alan really sorry to read this :( I was just browsing as I haven't posted here for a long time. Saw your post and had to reply before shutting down.
Dad has to go to an eye clinic tomorrow which is why I'm up later than normal as I'm worried about him.

His last scan didn't get a clear enough photo of one eye. He was referred but the hospital list was so long they have sent him to a private clinic. I don't know if they will do what's needed or if he has to wait. I remember years ago the optician remarking on a slight cataract so I'm not sure if this is what it is or something D related.

Like you dad's control is good and he has never smoked and doesn't drink. I'm so worried and reading about your ongoing referrals with your excellent control has really affected me. I really hope you can be seen ASAP as waiting is the worst part. I don't know if we will know any more tomorrow or back into the waiting for the letter :(

Thinking about you will tell dad tomorrow

I had a letter like this a while ago. I subsequently saw a consultant and he decided to wait to see if it got worse.

In the interim I started on the pump. HbAC1 dropped dramatically and retinal lesions cleared up all on their own.

At the last retinal inspection, some lesions have come back and I'm back on the watch list.

All I can suggest is that you don't beat yourself up about this. We try our best and take life as it comes.

Got my appointment through - it's at the end of August, very early in the morning so hopefully not too much waiting around.

Thanks Ant 🙂

I have just joined this forum and was interested in your note, I to have just received a letter returning for another eye scan saying the same, so obviously generic letter, but as you say a little daunting, will wait and see when appointment comes thru. Hope your's goes ok.

Thanks Susiecue, welcome to the forum 🙂 Hope things go well for you also 🙂

good news the waits not too long, fingers and toes crossed all goes well for you.

Alan, sorry to hear about your scan results. Hope everything goes well at your appointment.

Sorry to hear this Alan, I do wish you well for your appt. I remember being very frightened when I had to have my eye lasered but it wasn't really that bad, no pain and I've been ok since.xx

That's good to hear, thanks Karen 🙂 I think it's just the idea of someone messing with your eyes, isn't it? It helps to knw that so many people here have come through it. Plus, of course, it's not a definite that I will need it, the opthamologist just wants to examine me further to see if it may be necessary.

I'm really sorry to hear that Alan, keeping my finger's crossed that it's just that they need to take a more careful look using more powerful equipment.

Yes it's a horrible thought and our eyes are so sensitive - you know what it's like if you get an eyelash in your eye. Lets hope they decide you are ok though.xx
