Good luck with your results wakman. I saw my DSN last week and she is lovely. Always understanding, helpful and asking me how things have been going and did I manage to get a job yet etc. Margaret is great, I'm lucky I have such a nice DSN.

Hope it went okay Wakman!

Results were 10.1

Not good really i bit upset about it but i thought it would be around that.

The anoying thing is since turning 40 last year i have had a mid life crisis.

Instead of going off and having an affair i bought a road bike and i have found a new hobby love come to work on it usually twice a week ride at the weekends and i have even done 3 events all 60 miles plus.

Since doing this lost a stone and still going but still its seems its not enough.

have to increase metformin 2 in the morning and 2 at night. It so frustrating sometimes.

Now ranting, but thank you all for your support.

Sorry to hear you've had to increase the meds, but I hope it does the trick. Did they give you any advice other than increasing medication - any areas they thought you might be able to make changes?

Hello Northener

Not really she said it just looks like i have to increase my meds.

Ill monitor it closely over the next week so whats happening just taking 2 metformin in the evening for a couple of days first then i will take the oher one in the morning i think that would be wise.

I have heard people mention that metfornin can cause upset tummies so ill break it in gently.

How are things with you !

I'm fine thanks 🙂 Seems a bit of a lazy approach, just having you increasing meds when there might be other things that could help improve things. If your diet is good and activity levels are good though, then it can't be helped. Hope it doesn't upset your tummy 🙂

Hi Wakman,
Sorry to hear you have such a High A1c.
I think it's bad no other advice was given though.
Have you had a referal to a dietition sp* or any advice on managing Carbohydrates? Hope you can find the help/advice you need.

Hi Wakman,

Sorry you are so disappointed with your results. It's horrid getting levels like that when you've not done anything to warrant it. Not to ention not getting any decent advice other than increase your meds.

I don't expect this will make you feel any better but to sort of put thing in perspective, my A1c back in February was 12.1 for no reason I could fathom. I wasn't doing anything any differently at all. I got no advice at all and had to beg to be refered to the hospital. I'm now on Byetta injections as well as 2x 500mg metformin and 3 x 80mg Gliclazide. My A1c last month (one month after starting Byetta) was 10.1 like yours. I was disappointed but my DSN was pleased with the improvement.

After 7 and a half years I've never had any diet advice at all. Keep your chin up and I hope the extra Metformin works. XXXXX
