I now know I shall have my first cataract op about April-ish, dunno how long till they do the other eye - just hope it's all over and done with in enough time not to cause difficulties for it, next year, is all !

I was diagnosed in 1998 and have been on insulin since 2000
I never got round to learning to drive when I was a teenager, so didn't pass my test till I was 34 in 1984
I have always renewed my licence every 3 years since I was on insulin, in 2000 as I mentioned
In 2011 I worked out that if I gave up my car and used my bus pass I could afford to retire early, which I did, in 2011. But I still kept up the renewal of my licence.
Last week I got my renewed licence again, and I had also saved enough to buy another car.
It's a 2005 Fiesta with only 22,00 miles on the clock, and in excellent condition. I'm looking forwards to going on a few trips when the weather improves

Good for you Zuludog ! I passed 3wks on from my 17th birthday. When I was 20 I got a brand new car that I have still got. The alloys are not marked & you can see your reflection in the black paint. 1983 Black Astra GTE. Keep going Zuludog that Fiesta will not be "ran in" yet 😎
