good news about the Hba1c it has just come in and from been stuck at 70's - 50' it is down to pre-diabetic levels 41

there is a hidden side though unexpected weight loss and am been screened to see what is possibly causing that.

in respect of diabetes i am on medications so what can i expect to happen at the review or what should happen? my review is just after the Easter hols.

Reduction in medication I'd say were it not for the unexplained weight loss you are having tests for - they have to tackle both together really cos they are both part of the picture that is you!

i have got offered a f2f with a very nice doctor in a few weeks it isn't relating to the weight loss but hopefully he might be able to put me in the picture a bit more as to what might be going on.

He was my partners doctors and knows me well so i should be in a better position to report back on here then.

well a lovely donna kebab coming up only kidding but could murder one 😛

Hope you get some answers @mikeydt1 - unexpected weight loss can be a bit of a worry.

Great result to get your A1c down so low, but I’m guessing you won’t want it to keep going downwards?

i guess if the weight loss continues then that 41 will tumble? does that become serious under a certain level?

scrub the above felt a bit off so checked my BG and weird as my Hba1c is showing normal now so why is my BG showing abnormal? washed my hands to make sure of no contaminations.
think i have seen some others reporting the same issue where their Hba1c is okay but there BG finger prick test is showing above normal readings.

It depends on which meds you are taking.

Some are designed to drive your BGs lower, and need to be reduced or sometimes stopped as your average levels get towards the non-diabetic range. Otherwise your levels your start to drop too low.

BG varies in all people - whether they have diabetes or not, so in a sense everyone will have some ‘out of range’ numbers - depending on when the BG checks are being taken 🙂

What matters is how often, how high, and how long they last. And if there is enough time above the usual range to begin to affect the overall averages 🙂

mike i have since done another post as there is something going adrift with the BG levels not downwards but going upwards at the moment they have hit 10.0 not serious but not even had breakfast yet and it is not the dawn issue as i have been up ages so god knows what is wrong.

i keep questioning if this is type 2 never been tested.

Hi @Mikeyd - could be a reaction to your surgery or that you ate coming down with something. You are under so much stress, physically and mentally right now. You're keeping an eye on it and that's the important thing and you're logging your results to present to your team as evidence. There after so many variables in what affects BS levels. That is not to downplay your unusual readings and concerns about them

i had forgotten about the operation and it hasn't been that long since it was done and went pear shape. it does feel a bit better now but was still getting some blood issues up to last night. the doctor who i spoke to said around a week so we are looking in to Tuesday at best.

noticed that i feel a little more tired than usual which is not like me.

doing the best thing and doing a diary.
