Went to my surgery for my Pneumovax jab, the nurse will be my DSN, I spoke to her about test strips on prescription, to my surprise and delight, she told me that I can have the strips and that the meter they give out is the contour.

She did say that they do not expect nor advise T2's to test to frequently, but appreciated that testing was part and parcel of control, lets hope that they do not change their minds.

I particularly like the Bayer system as I use a mac computer and can download data, whilst most of the other systems are windows based.

Cheers

How very enlightened of your DSN to be! 🙂

It's good to see some common sense once in a while (but I'd like to see it more often).

Andy 🙂

Yeah! Thats brilliant news. If you register your contour online you can get lots of free stuff and if you save the top of the box of strips and send them off you can save up for stuff like books including the carbs and cals book. Well worth having a look on the website.

Excellent news macabee! Make sure that each test has a purpose and provides information that you can use to improve your blood sugar control and they shouldn't have any reason to complain when you need more 🙂

Macabee thats excellent news so pleased for you
