Hi,
I have not been on this forum for years - I got complacent, and ended up in denial. My last mmol was 60, down from 77 but that is me relying on the medication rather than dealing with the issue. I've spoken with a diabetic nurse who agrees with me, reminding me that it will get worse despite the medication without my help. So I thought my first port of call should be the place that helped me so much when I was first diagnosed. I hope I have not put a downer on anybody's morning....

Welcome back Mark. This forum is the best for support. Have not been posting myself much for a while but always feel better after reading posts on here, and learn a lot too. Have a good week.

Hi Mark, I also came back for support. I’ve not come across another forum that’s anywhere near as good for support and information, for anything really.

Hi and welcome back. Good that you have decided to take control of things again and we are here to support you.

The relentlessness of diabetes means that it is easy to suffer burn out, so it is not uncommon for people to struggle to cope with it for a while or try to ignore it, but the important thing is to get back on the wagon and get it back under control.

What worked for you last time?
Do you use a BG meter to test before and after meals as I find that helps keep me on the straight and narrow. If I have a high reading I know I can't afford to be naughty so it keeps me in check.

I have recently upped my exercise regime and I am finding that is making a huge difference too. Just a brisk daily walk/jog on top of my stable chores (I have horses) is really making a difference, particularly to my overnight levels.

Welcome back @MarkT

All the best for your renewed push to get your diabetes back on track 🙂

Onward and downward!
