Good morning all
Last October is had tests and found out that i am type 2, i first i did not believe the docs as i was in denial but i have come round to it and now deal with my sugar intake.
I hope that i can ask questions how ever silly it may sound.

Welcome John, glad you found us! Ask away, we Are a friendly bunch and are all learning together. There's always a new tip I can pick up, or a recipe to try. Do you watch your carbohydrate I take as well as looking out for your sugars?

Hi John, welcome to the forum 🙂 Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but good to hear you are coming to terms with it and have decided to join us - there are lots of friendly, experienced people here who will be able to answer your questions and allay your concerns - so no, there are no silly questions! If it bothers or confuses you, please ask! 🙂

You might find it helpful to have a browse of our Useful Links thread, which lists lots of good resources. In particular, I would suggest reading Jennifer's Advice and Maggie Davey's letter so you can get a good understanding of diabetes and how it can be tackled so it doesn't cause you problems. I'd also recommend getting a copy of Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year by Gretchen Becker, which many of our members have found to be very helpful 🙂

Do you have a home glucose monitor and a prescription for test strips so you can test your tolerances for the meals you eat?

Hi John and welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask whatever questions you want.

Hi John Welcome.

I'm in denial too John, I heard myself telling my daughter and son this weekend that I was pre-diabetic really! Ha! If I continued pigging out the way I was doing I don't know what would have happened! Now it's lose weight and get healthy or look a fool for refusing the weight loss surgery.

We've got to face it, we're diabetic ::sigh:: and just get on with it. It might be the making of me anyways, it's the only thing stopping my food addiction.
