Hi, I’m a new type 1 (end of June).
First time ever I’ve got a season ticket and first match is today. I’m guessing it may take at least 90 minutes to get from home to the game on public transport (Newcastle to Sunderland) from door to seat and at least that coming back. My main concern is coming home. Wondering if it’s okay to take my usual insulin and have sandwiches at end of match 445pm ish, travel home then take my usual dose of insulin again and have my dinner at about 7pm? I only need about 1 unit for 40g carb at moment to give you a guide. Other than that I thought that I could eat an apple with no insulin and if necessary eat another apple or 10g carb nuts to keep my BG acceptable rather than take insulin? I’ve been really strict so far about only injecting at meal times. On this note if I did fancy a sweet treat at a coffee shop once in a blue moon is it ok to inject insulin for this between meals?
Thank you for anybody’s and everybody’s insights!
