Good Afternoon Guys,

I had a good cry three times today. Once this morning after my walk. The next time with my therapist, and just now in front of my mum and brother. For 18 months my mortgage was on interest only, and now they have said from this month they are applying the full rate.

A lot of you know that I cope with depression, and really thought that I would no longer require anti depressants, having been off them since September 2012. I even thought that after getting into other things and learning new things I got my depression finally licked..............Does any of this make sense.

It sort of crept up on me and then BAM since Saturday, I caught a wee cold and then it came up afterwards. I feel so anxious and uneasy. I have had depressive episodes on and off, however I thought I had it licked.....I hope I don't want to go back on anti d's ...........I woudl feel such a failure.....

(((((rustee))))) Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Do you have any techniques or things that you know tend to help lift your mood? Might also be worth bearing in mind that if you've been ill that could have affected your sugar levels which will in turn affect your mood - I know I can end up sliding down into feeling grim if my control slips... If you do feel like you need some extra help in the form of medication please don't feel like a failure - it's just another illness that needs sorting & anti-d's are just a tool - it's no reflection on you as a person.

Take care, be kind to yourself. Xx

Thanks Twitchy - I have been on them from 2002 to 2006, then for most of 2012. I learnt reiki, meditation techniques. It kept it at bay for over 5 years, then when i got diagnosed with Diabetes type 2 in mid 2011 - delayed shock until later on in the year.......... I see a therapist and have done since Feb 2012. She has helped me a lot. I have to accept that I maybe have to go on them long-term?

I wouldn't worry about the long term at the mo - in fairness it's still a relatively short time since your diagnosis & on top of that you've had to mortgage situation to deal with too - hopefully once you get through this patch things will calm down again. 🙂 Don't be hard on yourself! 🙂

Hi Rustee

It's a shame to see you are going through such a hard time and can just see how hard things are for you right now.
Acceptance of long term usage of medication for mental health issues are always a choice Rustee, but trust me talking therapy is always the best and healthiest way forward. Maybe some psychotherapy could be helpful if you have underlying issues things like CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy) I have included this link so you can have a look for yourself and the website is free. http://www.dbtselfhelp.com/

Steve and I are sending our best wishes to you Rustee and hope things improve for your situation.

You are coping brilliantly with all this Rustee. If you would benefit from the tabs, then you should have them. No problem. You are amazing. Keep going, you will make it through this difficult time.

Thanks Guys - it's so important to get words of encouragement and support. I think one of the reasons is acceptance - I tend to be like a loner sometimes, too much time on facebook probably lol.

Although I am aware of the symptoms, it still doesn't make it any easier.

it is not a failiure if you need a little help from anti ds. They are there to help you over a difficult period. We all need help from time to time.

As for the mortgasge, go into somewhere like the CAB and see if they can negotiate with your lender on your behalf or give you information on getting help with repayments.

Hope you feel better soon
