Hi all,

I've just been looking at Gluroo and it looks as though it possibly displays more information than librelinkup.

Has anyone tried it and whether it will connect to both at the same time?

Many thanks

Gluroo does work with Librelinkup and I have tried it (mainly to get BG Readings on a smartwatch - but have since found a better method) - you do get "always on" readings on your phone so you can see the value and trend arrow even when it's locked which is handy (but Juggluco does this too (Not on IOS though)) - it's pretty good but I couldn't be bothered to keep updating it with Carb & Insulin doses etc. (having already scanned my smart pen on Libre) but it's worth a try if you think it might help

I use Gluroo and find it very useful, but there is, as said, a downside to having to enter in data on LibreLink and Gluroo.

I use Samsung devices and I have noticed the Gluroo team is working at getting the Samsung Health connection working so it could well be we don't have to enter in twice one day! If only LibreLink would connect to Samsung Health too...

Note: If using Libre2+ you should tell the gluroo app you are using the Libre3+ so it gets the number of days correct - they all work by using the LibreLinkUp which has a common API I believe.

Before I moved to dexcom Gluroo is what I used to have my libre glucose level displayed on my iphone and iwatch.

It was glitchy but okay. If logging more than just BG is what you want then Gluroo does the job, as @mashedupmatt said there are better alternatives that do the same with less faff. But if it works for you.

I am looking to buy a new Smartwatch that can show my BG in real time from my Libre 2+. I also use an android phone. Can anyone recommend a good compatible watch that isn't too difficult to use? Thanks.

Depends how much you want to spend on the watch - if all you want it for is BG Levels and telling the time, then I'd recommend a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 (very cheap, brand new, on Amazon) - the battery life is dreadful (needs charging once a day) but works perfectly well using Juggluco plus the G Watch Wear app or GlucoDataHandler app to display BG Levels plus trend arrows (you can configure it to vibrate alarms too) - it is very easy to use - this is my watch display:

Check the "Libre Geeks" facebook page for a multitude of other options too

I fear once a day (or thereabouts) is pretty normal for an always-on display smartwatch. There are certainly watches with a longer battery life but they tend to be quite a bit bigger (like the Apple Watch Ultra). My impression is that otherwise it's roughly once a day.

Gluco data handler works well and updates the wear os watch face correctly unlike Gluroo which doesn't work properly on Samsung watch.

I have a question: does the smart watch have to be near the smart phone / CGM app for it to display your glucose? For example, could I leave my phone in my bag in the changing room when I go for a swim and still see my BG on the watch while I’m in the pool?

I hope this makes sense!

Yes but I am not sure what the distance is, it’s within range Witt the iPhone / iWatch. I’ve had my phone in my bag near my desk and been in meeting rooms and still have it displayed or in the garden with my phone charging in the house but the signal does drop if I get to far away.
Gardening I’ve started taking my little bum bag I use for rugby so I can leave that near but not loose my devices or step on them or end up in the compost bin (nearly)

No that won’t work unless the locker is very close to the pool and you’re out of the water. The sensor sends the bg to the phone and the phone sends it to the watch. If you’re too far away from your phone the sensor doesn’t get through to the watch.

Bluetooth range is often about 10m. That's what Class 2 devices (phones, headphones, etc.) are supposed to offer. I suspect sensors have a much lower range (the battery is tiny, after all, as is the antenna). Quite likely smart watches offer a lower range too, typically. If one end is in a different room that'll affect range, and putting one thing in a metal locker will presumably also have an effect.

Juggluco runs on the watch itself. Ordinarily the one running on the phone gets the Bluetooth signals and the one on the watch just reflects that, but it can be switched so that it receives the signal directly from the sensor (and later there's an option to synchronise those readings back to the phone). I've never tried doing that (it's always felt a bit complicated and I worry that after that LibreLink would stop working) but if you had a strong reason for such a feature it might be worth experimenting with.
