Thanks. Can anyone explain how the Insulin units: grams of carbs ratio is calculated. Seems very important to get it right to take right amount of insulin.
The right amount of insulin is whatever you need.

That probably doesn’t sound very helpful but I know that my ratio change through the day and also need tweaking with the seasons. So currently I start the day with 1unit : 8.8g and by the evening 1:9.4 (I use a pump so can bolus in small increments and my pump works out the amounts once I have put the carbs in). I have got these figures by trial and improvement.
