I am finding lowering my glucose reading impossible.
It is in the high teens or low twenties even though I take 1500 metformin and watch diet.

With readings that high and not knowing what you are eating, it would be a good idea to make an appointment with your DN or doctor to see if you need other meds adding to help control your levels.

What foods are you eating as if they are high in carbs or fast acting foods like white for an instance, which most of us avoid and even fruits can be a problem for us.

It's hard to offer any advice without an indication as to the specifics of your diet. But high teens/low twenties ought to be reduceable with dietary plus medication control.

Hi Margaret, when you say you "watch your diet" what exactly do you mean? I have managed to bring my BG levels down by cutting back on carbs and portion sizes.

Welcome to the forum, Margaretoc. It can take time. It can be a struggle at first, things to learn, do, and figure out when you're maybe already busy enough. It takes a little time. Have you been given advice in addition to the medication?
S.
