I have been given a Glucomen aero as a replacement blood tester by my Diabetes nurse. This is my 3rd machine and is without doubt the worst, the last one I had you just plugged it into the PC and I could transfer the data off as a CSV file easy. However with this one I have to use the android app via a bluetooth dongle as I do not have a NFC smart phone. It took ages to set up and connect and since transferring the original data will not update my latest blood tests. Has anybody got any ideas how I can get my latests results off this machine as I have been just put on more medication as my readings where so high and need to check my blood twice a day.

Hi @Paul Strivens and welcome to the forum. For two readings a day, pencil and paper and half a dozen taps on a keyboard should do it.

I'm no tech dinosaur. Did technology all my working life, from carbon fibres, to nuclear reactors to fuel cells and in the end came to a simple conclusion. Just because you can do something does not mean you have to do it, especially when the time and effort working out how to do it is far greater than the low tech way of getting there. It has the added advantage that whilst inputting the numbers you are thinking about them and making an assessment of their significance and that can be time well spent.

PS, if you come up with a solution, then post it up because not everybody thinks my way!

Sorry to hear your meter download is causing you grief @Paul Strivens

Unfortunately it’s not a meter I have seen or know anything about. Does it have a cable connection? Or is it wireless only?

A cable connection might at least shortcut any difficulties with the wireless link up?!

If it’s a glitch with the Glucomen software, it looks as if you might be able to use Diasend as a way of downloading the data (which many clinics use for data-sharing and which can combine data from multiple devices)

This meter is designed for wireless transfer unlike my previous meter which used USB. I agree that it is a software issue it looks rather old in design, the Diasend software does not work with bluetooth only NFC. However Glucomen support came up with a solution ? go in to bluetooth settings on the phone and forget previous device then the software re recognises the bluetooth device and loads the data. Not sure if I will need to do this every time.

With a bit of luck it will, Paul. Strongly suggest the meter is nowhere near the phone, when you initially open the Glucomen App to tell it to forget the previous device though.

Hi. I’m a technophobe but tried to register my glucomen aero with no success. I have a log book from the company and persevere with that. Good luck
