Have been using one of these for several years, thrust upon all diabetics in the area by the local GP surgeries.
Always had my doubts about its accuracy but it has now become quite erratic and since I am on a new drug that's a serious problem as I can't properly judge its effect.
Anyone else have experience with this?

Welcome.
If you have had it for several years it is most probably past its sell by date anyway. There was a fairly recent standard implemented that meters must met.

"meters must met"? I'm sorry, I don't understand what that means.

There was a new standard that meters must meet to be approved for use. Many of the big meter companies advertised this fact and offered new meters that met the standard.

Hi, welcome to the forum Keren.

Firstly, why did you have doubts about its accuracy? And what is the new drug, and what medication are you on?.

Doubts because, for instance, experiencing a hypo and it showed my blood glucose at 6.2. Two tests within five minutes showing 7.3 and then 12.6.
Am on Trulicity, 3rd month, currently nothing else. Previously on Exanatide and SR Metformin, had to stop both due to regular nausea eventually becoming severe vomiting until I couldn't eat at all. Had excellent results with Exanatide until that happened.

It could be that you were having what is known as a false hypo, where you levels have been higher and then went lower , tricking your body into thinking you are hypo.

Could be. However, I've just quoted you two single instances of recurring events. I get unmistakably clear hypo indications.

With a false hypo you do get hypo symptoms, it is just your bloods don't show a true hypo.
