Hi everyone.
It's been a while since I last posted and quite a bit has changed for me since then. I am now consuming medication for PAD & CVD (Asprin, Ranolazine, Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel, Adizen-SR, plus Pantoprazole and Tamsulosin). (I get a large bag when I collect from the Pharmacy 🙂) I noticed that my finger pricks were consistently getting back up into double figure (15+) and I was starting to feel unwell again (the same that I did before I was diagnosed). Anyway the long and short of this is that I spoke to my DB nurse yesterday and she has upped my Gliclazide in steps to the max of 320mg. The question I have (which I didn't want to ask her) is what it the pathway after Gliclazide at 320mg if that doesn't work. Is it Insulin?
Ultimately what I need is the Hospital procedures to sort out the PAD and CVD blockages, but like everyone else I'm on the list that stretches way way way around the corner.

Thanks for any info

Terry

Hi Terry, it depends what other medication you're already on/ have already tried whether the next step is insulin or whether your DB nurse may want to try adding another medication first.

This table is the guidance from NICE for health professionals about what medications to try for type 2, alone or in combination

Thank you, the guidance is very useful.
