Sure, spend a fair bit of time in the toon.

There's a good jd pub close to the train station which serves decent food, its called the mile castle, much larger than your average pub covering 2 possibly 3 floors.

Is this open to none Glasgow folks now that it is being held south of the border and almost on my doorstep. ie, is this now a Northern UK meet up? Not sure if I will be available as we have a lot of horse driving and riding events in August but would like to come along if I am free.... Not often I get the chance to meet an Olympian like "House Special" Hazel!

I have attended, Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Brighton.
Great way to meet people and to put faces to those we 'talk to', everyday on line

Open to all, I’m a Sassanach who lives in the north of England. Only 1.5 hours on the train for me to Glasgow and 2 hours to Newcastle. @rebrascora I see you’re from County Durham so I’m assuming it’s the Newcastle one you would be interested in. I haven’t organised a date for that but it won’t be any time soon. I’m busy all of September as have a wedding the first weekend, a wedding venue to look at the second weekend and driving down to Europe just after that for probably 3/4 weeks. If anyone else wants to meet up in Newcastle before then please go ahead without me. I’ll do another time. Looking forward to seeing the gang in Glasgow on 31st August. Will get my train booked. 🙂

Ah, my misunderstanding. It sounded like the Glasgow meet was being relocated to Newcastle due to football matches going on in Glasgow on the 31st. Doubt I could manage a trip to Glasgow but will keep an eye out for a Newcastle meet up if it gets off the ground.
