Hi

Sounds good to me (well apart from the white bread crumbs .... still no reason why granary breadcrumbs wouldn't be just as good?!).

Improvisation the name of the game

Improvisation the name of the game - I was wondering if I could get away with using oats but I am not sure about that- ty it once before the weekend and see!

we?ve got to find some way of making things work. I just remembered them --- and I know that they were very popular I intend making some for next weekend ? and the 5 bean hot pot as a vegetarian chilli. Also going to make up a mushroom stroganoff (that works well with steak!!) (to much cream in it for me but every one else seems to like it)

I don't use cream in my mushroom stroganoff Andrew, I use greek yoghurt instead.

The recipe I used this evening. it combines elements of 3 recipes I found - granery bread crumbs male the sausages look brown before they are as cooked as I wanted.

Glamorgan sausages
Ingredients
? 8oz fresh granary breadcrumbs
? 6oz Caerphilly cheese grated (I use chedder)
? half a leek or 6 spring onions finely chopped
? 1 tbsp grated ginger
? half tsp mixed herbs
? black pepper
? 2 eggs beaten
? ? to 1 tsp mustard powder
? 2-3 tbsp milk
? 3 tbsp melted butter

Some milk to use as a wash and a few bread crumbs to coat the sausages with

Method

Mix together 6oz of the breadcrumbs with the cheese, the spring onion or leek, and all other dry ingredients

Beat the eggs, butter and mustard together.
Stir the egg mixture into the breadcrumb mixture. If this is dry add a little milk
Divide the mixture into 6 or 8 portions. Shape in to sausage or burger shapes
Cook

But the important information was missed! What did they taste like? 🙂

Glamorgon sausages tatse

the sausages tasted very nice - I think that I put a touch to much ginger in this time.
