thanks everyone for all your support.
well this is day one an ive had my patch on for 3hrs, finding it quite hard but i think its just the thought of not being able to have a smoke, hopefully it will get better, i cant give in.

Good for you and good luck. I know how hard it can be to give up, it took me three goes, but it's well worth it. Just think what you can do with all that spare cash!

Hour by hour, Tracey, hour by hour and three hours is a great start.

Bet the non smokers think I (we) are mad but it really is an hour by hour thing 🙂🙂

It certainly is. Minute by minute sometimes!

Good luck Tracey,

I stopped smoking just over 4 years ago after smoking heavily for 26 years, I had tried to stop before, using patches and gum, to be honest nothing really worked! Until I tried Champix (like Zyban) I have not had a cigarette since, it was amazing, I was so surprised that I managed to stop and now do not miss smoking. I have told friends and family about Champix and my brother and OH have also both stopped with Champix after smoking heavily for years.🙂 The Paul Mckenna 'stop smoking DVD' was also very good and his spin on it was excellent, he says you have to retrain your brain, rather than nicotine being the problem. I have to say he is right, you are not born with the need. I try to think of my children looking at me with tubes coming out of my nose into an oxygen bottle ...........reason to stay stopped for me! Hope you manage to stop.........it was the best thing I have done.

thanks nomorecakes

Good luck, one piece of advice, the money you usually spent on cigs, put away separately, you will be amazed. When my sister gave up she never noticed the financial benifis, but her friend decieded that whenever she felt like buying fags she would put the cash in a tin, after a few months she had ?300, it would be more now that the price hs gone up. If you can stick to it, by the time summer comes you could buy some nice summer clothes, and if you do feel tempted to fall off the wagon just look at your money jar!! Hope this helps.🙂
