Over the past week I have reduced my basal down from 12 to 9, I have been on 9 units of Lantus at night for the past 3 days and my waking numbers are better, as are my morning levels. My last couple of waking BGs have been in the 7s rather than 3s or 11s. Still a long way to go in terms of control but it?s encouraging to see slight improvements at least.
🙂

it is a start and the main thing is you see the difference from your hard work.

Great news newbs, how are you feeling now?

I'm feeling better today thanks. I plan to ask the Consultant when I see him exactly what happened as obviously something went wrong with the sedation. I hope not to be sedated again for a very long time.

Great news Newbs.

I'm chasing a new basal pattern myself after the Summer and starting back at the gym.

Always amazes me quite how much difference a small change in basal makes! For me it seems to require many times the amount of insulin involved (or insulin's worth of carbs) if my basal is a little high or low.

I'm finding that difficult, my ratio has obviously changed, it was mainly 2:10 but now I'm hypo (2.7) after a 'standard' lunch that I would always inject 8 units for. Once you change one thing ....
