Has anyone had gastric surgery to help them loose weight , I know I am heavy at 130 kilos, and the doc was talking about doing it to help me, but when questioned it won't be the band option.

The only other one I know is stapling the stomach, unless there are other options. I am very tempted to say yes if they offer the option as want to be slimmer.

Does it work and are there any problems and how long is one in hospital?

Doc wants 10 kilos off asap but in total 30 kilos which i doubt will happen, also did not think they would consider it with just being 30 kilos overweight that's according to the charts, I would say 20 kilos my be more realistic.

Sorry, I don’t know but good luck

Eating low carb makes my weight drop, easy and quick. I am down over 40lb now, no effort other than controlling blood glucose.

I don't know anything specific, but a lot of people have had it done. I know 4 people, personally, but if those four, two have kept the weight off. Sorry I don't know who had which surgery, but seeing the surgeon will give you a lot more information.
