So delicious...

One cup of diced galia melon contains 15 grams of carbohydrates. It also contains 1.4 grams of dietary fiber and 14 grams of sugar. Galia melon is also a good source of potassium, bioflavinoids, carotenoids, calcium, and iron

100 grams ; According to different sources,
100 grams of galia melon can contain between 5.6 grams and 8.16 grams of carbohydrates:
Tesco Galia Melon: 100 grams contains 5.6 grams of carbohydrates, 5.6 grams of sugars, 0.4 grams of fiber, and 0.5 grams of protein
Sainsbury's Galia Melon: 100 grams contains 6.8 grams of carbohydrates and 6.8 grams of sugars
Healthline: 100 grams contains 8.16 grams of carbohydrates and 0.9 grams of fiber, for a net of 7.26 grams of carbohydrate

I like the cup size 😛

Enjoy

I suppose it depends on how ripe it is! The riper the sweeter and therefore more carbs?

Possible.
I asked the nutritionist at the hospital about Bananas referencing this, asking is a banana with black skin more carby than one with yellow skin and she said there is no difference. I still find that hard to believe.

I'm pretty sure though, we only eat Melon when it is ripe - at lease I do 🙂

I would assume that long chair, starchy carbs are brokes down as it ripens into shorter chain, sweeter carbs, but same amount of total carbs

Sorry, mine was a knee jerk reaction - googled it and apparently when it gets ripe it has the same carbs, just turns from complex carbs to simple sugars, which I think could hit your BG faster.

Its a great snack on a summers day whatever your preferences 🙂

Who knew maybe a google search to see, but I suspect we all react differently.

I eat any fruit I Like and never get caught up on whether I should. There are far worse carbs to have.

I am the same Annette except I do not eat the whole of some fruits in any one sitting, like bananas or oranges, I may have half at breakfast then the other half at lunch or afternoon snack. I was hard pushed not to eat all of that melon though 😛 Its the nutritional content I value of fruits as well as veg (and variety of course).

well done Jodee, but I eat the whole fruits, all day. I have a huge fruit bowl which would feed an entire family, it has been this way all my life. I eat everything but by preference berries, gooseberries too. Although I have oranges, red grapefruit, apples and pears these might sit in my dish for a couple of weeks before I want one, it has nothing to do with my diabetes more taste preference, it goes right back to when I became veggie at the age of five. I adore fruit and some veg.
