Sorry to hear you have been unwell sounds like a rough few weeks. Did the diabetes have much impact on the virus or infection If you dont mind me asking? I heard that it can sometimes exaggerate symptoms of illnesses and pain. I am very awesomely overwhelmed by the answers on here and have learned quickly that coming here instead of asking dieticians and docs yields much better results. I am getting married in just under 15 weeks and im worrying that some of the symptoms im having will make things uncomfortable i have been sweating heavily since before my diagnosis and i am worried its going to make me look awful on my wedding day and im worried about dress fittings because the women in the wedding dress shop said that normal sweat leves could stain the dress before the wedding i know it sounds silly but i am panicking and my doctors have no answers for it :(. God im off on a rant again seems like all I do these days thats the frustrating part x

I took myself off to the emergency clinic one evening and the doc there said the secondary infection was as a result of diabetes. Pretty c**p huh? But I am getting better day by day. Today I went shopping on my own for the first time in weeks. I took a bus there and had to take a taxi back because as usual I bought too much so I couldn't carry it all....lol. I made a big dinner and some homemade soup for my work tomorrow and by 9pm was out cold in my chair. Probably overdone it today. I am hoping next week I will be feeling my old self. As for your wedding stop stressing about that. Stress isn't good for diabetes.....I learned that here. Get your mum, dad, family to help you deal with stresses you wedding is causing you. Keep calm its one day, but its the biggest day of your life. I arranged all my own wedding years ago and learned a big lesson.....go with the flow. As much as you worry about things, on the day itself you will be surprised just how well it really does go...it all seems to fall into place on the day. Speak to your GP or diabetic nurse before the wedding about the sweating. It may well be your anxiousness about the wedding is making you sweat. I hope all of the above helps. You must keep us updated on how your wedding arrangements are going. We can all be excited with you....lol. Take care and if you need a rant or just a chat with someone kind of in the same boat (though I am not getting married) just message me anytime if you feel like it. Take care x 🙂

That is pretty c**p is good your getting better though just sucks its talking so long i can sympathise i have had back problems for years now and have ended up bed ridden for weeks at a time its frustrating not being able to do things yourself. I have recently started cooking a lot I am loving it didnt realise how enjoyable cooking actually was I have got loads of good recipes on this website too the healthier chicken kiev was lovely 🙂 I will be sure to keep you all posted on the wedding preperations not much left to do now I will definitely be trying to get others to take some of the stress off see if it helps and thank you again. Take care xx

Ickle_Lj, it's possible the sweating is a consequence of your body adapting to the changes you are experiencing as you try to get your blood sugar levels under control. Normally, our bodies will regulate things very well, but with diabetes things can be thrown well out of balance. As you learn more and make the necessary adaptations to your diet and activity levels things will hopefully improve and I think you will be glowing and radiant come your wedding day! 🙂

Aww thank you northerner I very much hope that I will be glowing and radiant on the day 🙂
