Hi my name is Ken and I am new to this site.
I am type 2 diabetic on insulin and have been for around 20 years. In the last few months I have lost quite a bit of weight and my hands are freezing cold all the time, which means I have to wear thermal gloves even indoors. Does anyone else have these symptoms. Thank you for your help.

Welcome @Kenrob71 🙂 Sorry to hear about your cold hands problem. You’ve not just described them as cold, but as freezing cold. That does sound unusual to me. In my opinion it would be sensible to have your hands checked out by a medical professional or at least talk to one on the phone. Sometimes people with (and without) diabetes can have problems with their circulation and a doctor or nurse could check that for you. They could also check for other possible causes.

Hi Ken,

Welcome to the site. I agree with Inka, worth getting them checked out to make sure that your circulation doesn't need addressing, especially when combined with the weight loss.

Hopefully they'll at least be able to offer some remedies for you.

Sorry to hear about your cold hands @Kenrob71 - sounds very uncomfortable for you :(

Hope the warmer weather brings some comfort when it finally arrives.

Let us know how any investigations go for your circulation. Have you been having your pulses checked in your feet as part of your annual reviews? This might give some clues as to circulation generally?

Do you get cold feet too?

Im your twin, i have cold feet and hands only in last 3 months since i lost 15 kg and actively went low carb and my bloods have lowered alot to hopefully pre diabetes range.

Its just very annoying like a constant reminder something is not right and is not helping with my anxiety re diabetes.

podiatrist said circulation to feet seems fine so im at a loss.

Just done 3 month review bloods so hopefully will see what comes up, my thyroid was borderline low before so maybe weitght loss has tipped it lower.

Just want to feel normal but let us know how you get on.

Paul
