I'm thinking of purchasing one of these but am doubtful as I don't really fancy a disc stuck onto the back of my arm.
Does anyone know if it can go anywhere else on the body?

I don't think it is licenced to be used anywhere else. I used one last year, they are very good and do save on the finger prick testing, only negative was, you only get to see last 8 hrs data, only a dr could have access to any longer history.

No - you can get free software from Abbott for them that allows you to download all your data and it does graphs and everything 🙂 What happens is that if you don't do a scan for more than 8 hours then you lose some data because it gets overwritten (I think!).

I've just started with my 4th and they are fab! 🙂 So far I've just worn them on the backs of my upper arms and you really don't notice. They stick very well, although a lot of people seem to be susceptible to knocking them off on door posts 😱 As mentioned, only licensed for arm, although some people have tried them in other places - problem would be it's a bit of an expensive risk if you find it doesn't work very well :(

Thanks for that, I never knew you could access the full history, has it always been like that? I thought only a dr had the access to that? Don't know where I got that from then. LOL

I've never tried it anywhere else on the body. People have noticed it - there are two responses. The first is "oh, you're a diabetic too," then ask about the system, which is fine. The second is "what's that?", to which I respond "It's my charge point. I'm a Synth". They then find something else to do which has suddenly cropped up...😎

I found it very easy to wear, hardly noticed it. Just needed to go online to watch the vid how to apply it, made sure I understood completely, cos if it doesn't go on right thats £54 wasted.:(

Hi I love mine, it's so convenient when out and about. It's helped me sort out a few problems and Is currently showing me I have another Which I wouldn't have known about just using a meter. I wear mine on the back of my upper arm, no one has commented yet, but when they do I'm going to say similar to Mike, thanks for that @mikeyB :D.
I've a thread about my Libre here
https://forum.diabetes.org.uk/boards/threads/me-and-my-new-libre-freestyle.64959/

I believe the app only works on Windows
If I remember rightly the scanner itself holds 90days worth of info, I've never taken mine back that far.

Our other dog walker friends just say to me 'cyborg again then'. They asked what it was the first time they saw I had one on and I explained, and now I'm just considered part human part machine 😎

Hi Nicola.🙂 All I can say is: the Libre has given me a massive confidence boost. I'm back exercising again after a 2-year break and I'm even thinking I could go on a walking holiday again like we used to do before I was dx.🙂 Funnily enuff, no-one mentions this thing stuck on my arm - they just give it "the big eye" and look away quickly. Hahaha...:D

Thanks for all of your replies and the links to the threads, I'm gonna do it 🙂🙂
One word of warning, once you've started using them it can be hard to stop! 😱 🙂 Good luck, and do let us know how you get on 🙂 There is a code you can use for free postage, this is the code for July: BCCFRDL7

Not sure whether this will put you off completely or what?

Theresa May has been spotted several times with one stuck on her arm.

LOL

Jenny, you'd think with a Type 1 diabetic prime minister, we'd have brilliant diabetic health care? LOL None of this, we don't like patients ringing nor we don't do face to face.

If the whole of the cabinet used the NHS we would have a very different NHS. I assume none of them do.
I've said the sa e thing for longer than I care to remember. I can't see it ever happening though.

Surprised she doesn't have a gold-plated full blown CGMS on her wages! 😱 Or perhaps she overspends on leather trousers? 😉

The thought of TM in leather trousers makes me feel quite unwell. Not like Suzi Quattro...different feelings altogether.🙄
