I am worried about the sensor coming off in this crazy heat. Is there something we can use to secure it? Any ideas? Thank you.

People use a wide variety of things

Skin tac before applying is one
Cutiderm/Tegaderm patches, micropore, kinesiology tape, libre patches manufactured by many different companies
Armbands

I used to use Cutiderm but they peel as well and after 2 years I reacted under them with heat a few months ago so I now use an armband xx

Can I buy an armband in a shop or do I have to order online? I'm.going away so won't be here for the post.

@Ratbag, you don't have to use dedicated Libre arm bands. I have used VetWrap and you could use any elasticated bandage such as you would put on a sprained ankle.
The advantage of VetWrap (apart from being cheap) is that it sticks to itself.

I doubt you'd find a libre specific armband in a shop but you could use something else in the meantime and order an armband from eBay and it's there when you get back, cut a small section of a tubular bandage, some even use a cut old sock xx

It's interesting how people's skin surfaces vary. My sensors stay solid as a rock and take some levering off.

The advantage of the specially designed arm band is that it only applies pressure around the very rim of the Libre sensor, so it is not applying pressure over the whole sensor and in this heat I imagine Vetwrap will get hot and sweaty whereas the arm band is so minimal that is isn't causing any significant increased coverage of the skin.

I was reluctant to get an arm band but now I wish I had had it right from the start. I feel so much more confident that my Libre is secure and so far no problems with the Libre readings. I am still happy to rely on it to bolus etc from the few occasions when I do comparable finger prick checks... My main concern was that it might cause compression lows or not stay in place on my arm, but it just works perfectly for me. The band comes in a jiffy bag which will easily go through your letter box and you get a choice of colours of both the 3D printed plastic rim and the elastic arm band, so you can make a fashion feature of it or keep it quite discrete.

Mine is was starting to get loose at the weekend, a week left to go.
This morning though it’s been so itchy underneath it, so I did think if it comes off it’s not the worse thing, hate an unitchable itch. Might have a spot or a bite under it.
Anyway in Lidl before it actually “pinged” off my arm as I picked up my shopping and I had to catch it ha! The relief of having it off and having cleaned my arm. Phew!
