I have a Glucomen Areo test meter which I was given on DX. I recently broke my lancet pen (currently held together with a piece of sellotape 🙄). Was having a look for a new stabber device and saw that the manufacturers were giving away new upgraded Areo meters so ordered one and it has just arrived. Meter comes with 10 strips and works with all Glucomen Areo test strips, lancet pen, 10 lancets and case. Also, the meter does blood ketone testing which my old one didn't.
Just thought I'd let you know in case anyone wants an upgrade or a meter (if this would be first meter be aware you'd need to purchase your test strips unless you can persuade your GP to fund).

Most meter companies will give away meters as they make money on the strips. Though as you say getting your Doctor to prescribe the strips is another matter.
