I love the Birmingham meets and the only reason I wouldn't go is if it clashed with a class...but there's a chance that I may give up my studying.

I would have attended the Glasgow meet, but unfortunately was working. Cost puts me off attending elsewhere. Would be nice to put some faces to the names though. 🙂

I would love to attend a meet but they are all just too far for me to travel at the moment, with the kids being so young.

I have always intended to come to a meet, but my last year was a mess location wise. I am now in East Sussex and would love there to be another Brighton meet ... London is a possibility but I find a lot of travel so much hard work these days !!
So.. How about a Brighton meet up ?

You're in luck Ann. There's a Brighton meet on 27 July 🙂

Unfortunately, travel is very expensive, so the York meet was the best one for me to attend. I can just about stretch to the Birmingham meet, but this year I don't know if I can make it, as the line from Hull to Doncaster has been broken by a landslide and I don't know when that will be fixed properly. Some of the trains go via Selby instead, but other trains stop at Goole and you have to take the bus to Doncaster :(

At one point we were supposed to be completely cut off, as RailTrack had decided they needed to repair a bridge near Selby. Fortunately they changed their minds to wait until the other line was repaired before they tackle this one.

I was intending to go to the London meet and half considering Oxford... but they just fell on the wrong weekends/months where money was a bit tighter than ususal so those meets went by the wayside.

Would like to come to another though!

much that I would like attend other meets but train fares and accommodation costs are a bit too much.

I think I'm pretty much the same - I always enjoy the meets, but unfortunately timing just hasn't quite worked out for me for the last few!

Thanks for all your responses everyone 🙂 Ann, we are due to have a Brighton Meet, normally July 27th, but because I'm a bit tardy in posting about it and given the problems we had with dates for York, I think I'll post a quick poll about it 🙂

Sorry I'm late replying.

I think you should schedule the meets and then ask for numbers as it approaches. Some may have to be cancelled but it gives everyone the chance to attend.

This year Ive done Oxford - was going to do York and will be doing Manchester.
Next year probably York if it goes ahead and definately Manchester. Dont think I can committ to the others now with having the little one.

Well I live in Stubbington inbetween Portsmouth and Southampton....and have never seen any meets in this area...I guess also for me I can be quite shy to new peeps I have never met, and think what would I talk about?
Don't get me wrong at work they can't shut me up :D...but when talking about diabetes to peeps I sorter clam up.....I guess I don't like knowing I have it but it is easy talking on forum not so person to person....sounds stupid eh!😱

Doesn't sound stupid at all. Probably the same way I started off and I was nervous about going to the first meet but relieved that people were either normal or as daft as me!

It seems we do have quite a few people in the Hampshire/Dorset/Wiltshire area, so I am thinking of having a Southampton Meet - I'd be very pleased to meet you there. It can be difficult meeting people for the first time, but honestly within minutes you'll feel right at home. And you only need to talk about diabetes if you want to - there's no pressure for anything. Really, it's just getting to know people a bit better and also realising that we're all just ordinary people with a common problem to sort out 🙂

A Southampton meet would be great 🙂 just be nice to break the ice so I could go to more!

What about Daddy? Why not hand little one off to him for a day and then go enjoy yourself?
