I got distracted this morning and forgot my Insulin. Just about to set off for work and I felt like I was going high when it dawned on me. A quick test showed I was 9.9 I didn't want to risk a correction just before driving so went to work. An hour later and I'm down to 9.3 so decided to see what happened. At 11:26 I'm down to 6.8. I am puzzled

strange........

what did you have to eat......?

if you normally have little carb for breakfast this behaviour may have been hidden.....

Do you mean background? Lantus and levimere stay in your body for some time so it could be that there is a build up of it. I wouldn't risk another day without it though lol.

Had my usual breakfast of Lizis granola and burgen toast approx 46 g of carbs. I haven't had any basal fo a while now so it was my bolus I missed.

how long since you took your basal.....

i would try a carb free breakfast at some point to see what happens........could be a mysterious one off....😉

Well wasn't it you who said quite recently that your consultant reckoned the left-over part of pancreas you have was recovering? Looks like it's recovered a bit more! - but I shouldn't get over working it to begin with if I were you.

How many units did you miss? Sounds like your Partial Pancreas might have decided to take over, since it hadn't detected anything going in from the outside! 😱

Done the carb free breakfast testing and the trend was downwards. Had to have some carbs before lunch to avoid a hypo. I haven't had any basal for at least 2 weeks for that very reason. That breakfast would normally be covered by 4 units of novo rapid. It's not an experiment I shall repeat again in a hurry.
