I feel like I'm having such an off day, can't think straight. I have forgotten my lunch today. I only get 30 mins break, the nearest place I can get food from is a Tesco, can someone please help suggest what I can go grab that is quick? I sort of need something I can pick up and just eat on the way back with only having 30 mins. TIA

Hi and welcome.

Sorry to hear you are concerned about a hiccup with your lunch. Unfortunately, without knowing what, if any, medication you are on and what dietary constraints you may have, let alone your tastes, it would be quite difficult to suggest something that might suit you.
If you can give us more detail about your diabetes management regime ie oral meds or insulin and the name of either or both, it would help. I note that you have gestational diabetes so assume you are currently pregnant?? Would I be right about that? Sometimes people tick the wrong box by mistake or tick "Gestational" because that was where it all started but the diabetes continued after the baby's birth.

Hi thanks for the response - yes currently pregnant so the diabetes is gestational.
Not on any meds, diet controlled at the moment. I am 29 weeks.

Thanks

Ok so maybe something like a scotch egg which is only about 15g carbs is relatively easy to eat on the go and plenty of protein and quite filling. I like olives and they are generally considered good for you and you can perhaps pick at them during the afternoon, but obviously no good if you don't like them.
A quiche might be another option but don't eat all the pastry.

Tesco sell Kvarg yogurts and prepacked salads without pasta (Not in the fast food section, but in the fruit and veg.)
How about some veg and a pot of hummous? Some nuts or olives.

I am intrigued by the comments "Tesco sell ..."
Sadly, I find the shelves of the same brand of supermarket can be very variable.
There is not a (fullsize) Tesco within walking distance but I have to walk to two different Sainsburys to get everything I need as their stocks vary. And that's within the same town. When visiting my parent's their local stores differ again to cater for local needs.

Thank you. I didn't think about the crustless quiche & I've had them before from Tesco as well. Obviously just not with it today. I ended up getting a cheddar & ham sandwich on WM bread and just only eating one of the pieces or bread. Also had a cheese string and some fridge raiders. I finish work at 4 so that should tie me over until then. Definitely lesson learned on remembering to bring my lunches.

I do usually bring a salad with hummous, boiled egg and either ham or chicken. Really enjoyable, filling and a great reading from it.

I expect its likely because I (as the OP) specifically asked for Tesco suggestions as it is the closest place to my work.

We had breakfast at a Tesco today and was very impressed with the chorizo breakfast eggs which was smashed avocado on a sourdough toast with 2 eggs and some chorizo which was extremely nice. That gave me the idea for another breakfast or even lunch option for at home.
