allegedly you can view all your previous medical records and results, like HbA1c, BP, Weight and so on................still early days I think but worth a look...........you submit your email and they get back to you with details, you also need to sign a form with your DSN/HCP............

Someone has mentioned this here before, sounds like a really good idea. For some reason over the past 3 years the HCPs have often seemed reluctant to tell me what my numbers are for certain things e.g I would be told my total cholesterol but not the breakdown of HDL.LDL - although I would be told the ratio was good  Wish it was offered in England, you Scots get all the best of everything - best weather, best whisky, best haggis... 😉

It's being run from NHS Tayside and I've had access for months. It doesn't tell you the cholesterol split, so no lhl/hdl or trig data. No doubt it will evolve.
The pilot project launched in Dec 2010 and ran until Mar 2011, there are 100 active users currently and 176 registered. They aim to get 5000 in 3 years

If anyone in Scotland is interested:

I have been registered with it since it first launched, although havent logged in for a few weeks.

I have been registered since it first started and is great.

my GP told me that this is not yet available in South Lanarkshire

sorry...........

I would dispute the weather Alan having come back from a run tonight and wrung my socks out!! I'm only interested if I can see all the comments written about me - that would make interesting reading I'm sure!!

I thought due to the data protection act or something similar, you are allowed to ask any company/organisation what information they are holding about you and it is their legal responsibility to tell you. Correct me if I'm wrong?
So in theory you should be able to request all the medical data held, i.e blood test results and the full breakdown and again, in theory, it should be provided.

To quote the Metropolitan police force:
The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA 98) gives you the right to access personal information (information about yourself) held by organisations.

Some more interesting info here as well.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick Hazel is saying that on-line access to the data isn't available in South Lanarkshire. Nothing to do with data protection. I'm sure she can go to her GP and get the data.
There is no obligation under the data protection act to give on-line access to data for data subjects.

I managed to get on, and I am in Falkirk.

I don't remember whether I was asked where I lived before registering or just sent in the info asked for - I think from a link on here but I can't remember. It might be worth trying to find "My Diabetes My Way" and see if you can get anywhere on your own.

Good luck. 🙂

It was a pilot and site seems to be down at the moment

Thats one of my criticisms of the site, they always seem to be taking it down for maintenance or something, if they've only got 100+ users , G help them when they get 5000.

MCH I posted the link in this thread a couple of days ago: www.mydiabetesmyway.scot.nhs.uk

Hazel I don't see why you shouldn't be able to register unless your GP is being obstructive!

I registered for this, but Doctor idiot refused to sign the form because she didn't think it would provide any value. Then I forgot all about it, I reckon I'll have another go.
