Hi all for those who are newly diagnosed and who are unable to get a prescription BG monitor from their GP, there's a company offering a free blood glucose monitor called Tee2 and their blood test strips are cheaper than most..details below...

certainly looks comparable in price to the codefee unit regularly recommend, it will be interesting to see how people get on with it (i assume you are trying one) fortunately I have my strips on prescription at present & Glucomen fell over themselves to let me have a PC cable - Bluetooth adapter & even a 2nd meter as a spare FOC - I guess they are using the Gillette marketing strategy as there strips would not be cheap if I had to buy them.
if funding stops then I would definitely be looking to change.
Hopefully if more manufacturers start offering reasonably priced strips like this the prices for all will start to fall.

The Tee2 meter has free pc cable software disc and I see a Bluetooth symbol on the display , I have ordered it but won't know if good or not really..

The strips for this meter are the second least expensive -(Codefree is slightly cheaper at standard price - a lot cheaper using bulk purchase codes ) and have the longest shelf life.
- If you opt for the newer Tee2+ - which uses the same strips and is also free - you have a bluetooth enabled device that can talk to an iPhone or an Android device or a PC/Mac - whithout a cable - if you ask they will give you the USB cable for free.

Strips are £7.25 for 50 - As a diabetic you will be VAT exempt if you declare the fact.
