Just a couple of questions.

I had a pork stir-fry last week with vegetables and egg noodles. My numbers we're good and my 1 and 2hr test was around 7. However, I have run out of testing strips and hubby made same meal tonight but added soya-sauce. Is this bad? I can't check to see what my numbers are but am hoping they might fall in line with last week.

Had a lunch of salad (spinach/watercress/rocket); cherry tomotoes; spring onion and a slice of boiled ham, stuffed it all in a wholmeal pitta bread.

I've had ham twice now; this month - am I right in saying I shouldn't be because its full of salt??? It wasn't packed meat but from the deli. 🙂

Amanda 🙂

The soy might have added a bit of sugar and salt to the meal, but I doubt if it would have made a huge impact. Given your previous results without the soy, I would imagine that you were still within range 🙂

I think your general diet is so good that the ham wouldn't be a problem - I'm not aware that it is excessively salty if bought fresh 🙂

Thank you - I am determined not to stress about it; but have ordered some more strips so will test next time I have it; without the soya :( In relation to the ham, it was nice but I'm not going to make a habit of eating a lot of it because I'm steadily losing the weight and want to ensure I don't go back to my old ways. Will go back to eating more fish at lunch...

I bought a jar of pea-nut butter today but will wait until I have some more test-strips and will test. My last few days wake-up numbers have been good;4.4; 4.2; 5. Hoping to keep this up but being realistic.....🙂

Wow Amanda, you're doing brilliantly! Your waking numbers are fantastic! I buy a ham joint each week, par boil it to remove the salt, then roast it in the oven. I buy the healthy heating ones from Tesco as they are low fat then the boiling removes most of the salt, so a nice healthy option! Katiex

Hi Kate, I bought a few slices of boiled ham from Sainsbury's last night from the Deli counter; I wanted to try something different; it was nice but as I don't have salt normally I could tell there was some salt in it. I'm having chicken/salad tomorrow and just made some lemon and lime sugar free jellies; determined to be a yummy mummy for Christmas. We'll have to swap before and after photographs when we both reach our ideal weight....🙂

Re your email have you thought about buying the strips from Ebay; you can grab a bargain... Amanda x 🙂🙂🙂

Just checked what I have and it is Hartley's powder jellies although I only managed to get 4 jellies made up; I used some yoghurt pots. I'm trying the lemon and lime; and have a packet of orange in the cupboard...yum yum. Who needs a chocolate eclair or a choux bun xx 🙂
