Are we ok to eat Brazil nuts? Also what are the best yoghurts to eat? And if no to Brazil nuts, are there any nuts we can eat? I'm struggling!

Nuts are generally fine. Full fat plain Greek yoghurt is good - and delicious!

Brazil nuts walnuts and pecans are pretty much the lowest carb nuts so if you are wanting to eat nuts, those are good choices as a diabetic. As regards yoghurt, many of us buy whole milk or creamy Greek (style) natural Yoghurt. Best to avoid low fat yoghurts or flavoured ones as they usually have added sugars and starches.

Hi. Almost all nuts are good for us. For yogurts make sure you read the ingredient labelling. Don't buy any with added sugar or added fruit juice. I have fruit yogurts with no added sugar but added fruit. Yes, avoid low fat yogurt as they may add more starch to thicken them.

I sometimes have a Quark product Lindahls Kvarg from ASDA which although low fat is high protein and low carb 5.1g carb per 150g pot available in white choc, raspberry and blueberry.

Just looked on Tesco for that because it sounded nice and I like quark, but it has sweeteners in which I’m not so keen on.

I have Arla Skyr which is nice and no sweeteners. A little higher in carbs though, I imagine.

Just checked - the one I have is approx 13g carbs but there is a Lite one with stevia and that is 5.7g carbs (and 14g protein).

I love nuts! Those mixed bags of assorted ones are great to have as a passing nibble.

... and don't last 5 minutes in our house, Mike! We can both very easily literally stuff our faces with em.
