Ok, so a good starting place is to look at an average day’s food for you pre-diagnosis and then look to see where you can reduce the carbs across the day. So, for example, if you used to have 2 Weetabix, milk and a slice of toast and jam, you could change that to just one slice of toast and a poached egg or two. You’re basically aiming to cut down on carbs - all carbs not just sugar - and increase green veg and salads to fill the gap. You can also have a bit of extra protein and some healthy fats.
Foods to watch out for are obviously things like sugary drinks, fruit juices, cakes, tropical fruit (higher in carbs), etc. Lower carb fruits are berries.
