My worst, unsurprisingly, is beans on toast, sent me up a whopping 7. I miss them  Also bread, croissants, crumpets, tea cakes etc etc, I seriously could cry when I have to walk pass them.
Surprisingly I don’t get hardly any spike with potatoes, particularly chips which I love, ok with jacket but not brilliant with mash.
Thankfully Bacardi and Diet Coke doesn’t mind my diabetes at all, so not all bad 🙂

Nom nom nom! I do like a potato, though I’m with you about mash 😱)

Chips on the front by the seaside with a good dollop of mayo though? *dribbles*

Porridge or 'wheat' cereals such as Shredded Wheat are my nemesis. If I give myself a slightly higher than required dose about 20 minutes before eating then I have a bit of a rise. A 1-10 carb counting dose (my usual amount) any closer to eating and I will leap from a steady 6 to a 'beep-beep-beep' 16 half an hour later and remain high for a couple of hours. Pizza tends to hit me about 3 hours after eating it - I rarely eat it, but if I do I can become very excited that I have cracked it when I measure just before bed and see that I haven't spiked only to see next morning that whilst asleep I jumped and stayed high throughout the night. Went to a really nice Chinese restaurant a year ago (so a year on from diagnosis) and my sensor reading of 17 really worried me, so much so I haven't had a Chinese meal since!

Potatoes, rice and pasta are fine for me. My wife loves to bake and birthday cakes etc don't tend to affect my readings.

Alcohol rarely affects my levels. I am not a big drinker, but I enjoy single malt and decent bitter/ ale occasionally. It is nice to know that a couple of pints on a Friday won't cause me to leap or drop.

Cheers!!!

I'm with Tescos cheap dark choc choc ices. 11g carb in each and well worth the expenditure of 1.1u Novo!

Wow! That is a surprising one (though diabetes does like to throw so many curveballs Inguess nothing should really come as a surprise!)

Just out of interest, how many times did you check it - was there any chance it could have been a rogue strip?
Two or three times over a few months :( I kept checking to make sure. First of all I thought it was because of the chips and batter because it was at the beginning of my journey and I was trying to see if I could have fish and chips as an occasional treat. But when I cut out the batter and only had a few chips with it - still massively high over a few hours. Then when I just had a few chips with something like chicken - no problem. Then I tried white fish with nothing carby and just steamed with mayonnaise and some asparagus and whoosh up like a rocket again. I had another go a month or so later on and same - so no more white fish for me.

Thought of one, stuffing. Have to go easy on it as bg spikes if not, only have it when eating pork on sunday.

Another treat, discovered Kelly's Clotted Cream Ice Cream last year, man its delicious and hardly touches bg.
