I think you'll find that most research shows that rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder.

:( Bolddog guilty of trying to use modern speak 😱

"Other delightful ( not ) autoimmune diseases ......" = "Other most unpleasant autoimmune diseases ......."

Sorry if I got up the hopes of any RA sufferers

Don't forget a separate item for Peanuts. Peanuts are not nuts, they are beans.

I didn't know that.

My brother in law is allergic to strawberries. And have you thought about things like penecillian?

Hubby has a dairy intolerance and osteoarthritis which is another auto immune condition.

In decreasing order of severity, eggs, penicillin, wasps, Persil, cats, feathers, some fish, fresh cherries and aubergines. I'm not allergic to shellfish or nuts. Oh, and I can't peel spuds or bite into an apple, there's something in the skins that sets me off. That should help your list along nicely Steff. :D

As for the autoimmune thing, in strict order of diagnosis: Pernicious Anaemia (Addison?Biermer anaemia), Rheumatoid Arthritis, Addison's Disease and the Big D.

I am starting to design the poll now. Drugs are too complex a subject to include I think. The same drug from different manufacturers can affect people differently and then there are interactions to consider.

It seems to me that on average diabetics have more food allergies/intolerances than most. I thought it would be interesting to do a poll (not designed yet) but before doing so I need to get a list of foods to include. My initial list is:-

Dairy (from cattle)
Wheat
Shellfish
MSG
Nuts

Additions to the list, and comments most welcome!

P.S. Colleague just said sugar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would soap and washing powders count? Sheena

Did I mention cut grass and certain pollens? 😉

Oh, you could go on for ever if you wanted to list all the different trees/bushes/flowers that can cause reactions.

I once had a temporary reaction to one specific bush that was in my neighbours garden when I was much younger.
