Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with Foliculitis.
When I was diagnosed with T2 Diabetes just under a year ago, I started to notice dark round circles on my legs. I asked the doctor about it, who just said it was a rash. I later started to develop some pain in the areas with the dark round circles, which prompted the doctor to have another look at it. I was then referred to a Dermatologist who told me it was Foliculitis. He just told me to moistuirse the areas with creams like E45. Due to my uncontrolled sugars I developed Foliculitis, and with good management of my sugar levels, it can stop the spread.
He also told me although good management can stop the spread, it can still take a while to clear, and in some people it may not clear so to just be patient. As it was just on my legs which can be covered with clothes, I was fine with that, however it has started to spread to my face.

My sugars levels are more controlled now than before, so I am unsure as to the recent spread.
Does anyone have any advice?

Sorry @Daniel_0101

It’s not something I’ve come across.

It seems to be related to an infection of the follicle where the hair ingrows?

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

No worries at all, and yes, I believe it is that sort of infection.
Doctors have now prescribed me some cream, so hopefully that will resolve it.
