IMG_5431.pngThis morning spike from getting out bed is ridiculous. Anyone else get them this bad? I’ve had 2 coffees with sugar free almond milk like I always do. :(

If I didn't inject my breakfast bolus plus 2 extra units of Fiasp to cover FOTF before I got out of bed, mine could easily look like that. I have seen my levels rise by 6mmols in about 3/4 of an hour from swinging my feet onto the floor.
If I am not having breakfast, I still inject those 2 units as soon as I wake up (as well as my morning Levemir) and always before I get out of bed.

Crazy isn’t :/

Did to say that I think probably what you're discussing is absolutely right but I'm not found it to important in the long run I think it's more important just to keep a steady calm look at these things take your insulin regularly as we should do do your testing regularly and then just see what your tests and your trends are over the next three months

Well as that looks like it takes over 3hrs to gradually increase why don’t you take insulin before getting out of bed. It would work to stop it since it will work over the 3 hrs that you’re gradually increasing.

It looks like you just need an earlier bolus then the action of the insulin would match the graph of glucose rise.

The other thought I had was that if my levels are above 10 my insulin doesn’t work as well. Any ideas on how start your morning a bit lower. Would it be worth doing a basal insulin check (after this week obviously)

Did you check this with a finger prick?
Libre had a tendency to overegg highs so it may not be such a spike.
Especially when your BG is in double figures to start.

No, my foot on the floor is nowhere that extreme. I may be tempted to try for a general lower level of blood sugar, and inject immediatly on waking - when do you inject your am insulin?

And if that doesn't help you coul ask for a pump so it delivers insulin bfore you walk and nips it in the bud
