I've just had a really interesting conversation with the practice nurse at my surgery. It seems all their stocks of the vaccines have been recalled due to some people reporting severe reactions. This apparently applies across Scotland. I don't know about the rest of the Yook. Has anyone else heard mention of this?

Nope not heard a thing about it, had mine about a month ago now so guess if i personally had had a reaction I would of known by now

Brilliant, mine is this Saturday, and I am very much in Scotland........

I will take one for the team regardless..........🙂

I haven't heard of this, but it is probably about time I phoned to book up for a flu jab with hubby. If we make it an evening one we go together and take little feller with us, the theory being he wont have problems as he gets older with injections...

Hmm, I did wonder. I mean, it would have been all over the news wouldn't it? Hang on while I Google: ..../

Aha! Our pals at the Daily Mail are on the ball it seems. Susie is forgiven.

oops posted about the same time

Oh dear made my OH go and have one at Asda yesterday - at a cost of ?7. He seems fit and well after it and not complaining of feeling ill. Don't think I'll let on to him about this recall though - as he'll never go again!😱

From reading the article it was just a batch suitable for people with egg allergy, so if you had an egg-derived one you wouldn't be affected 🙂

Aye well, that would be me then. Herself said 'all' the vaccines had been recalled when she really meant all the eggless vaccine(s).

The 2011 flu vaccination also includes a vaccine to protect against swine flu (the H1N1 strain of the flu virus).

The USA has 3 viruses in their vaccine..!!

Each year, the seasonal influenza vaccine contains three influenza viruses ? one influenza A (H3N2) virus, one influenza A (H1N1) virus, and one influenza B virus. The 2009 H1N1 influenza virus strain is included in the 2011-2012 seasonal flu vaccine because scientists continue to see this virus strain circulate in the U.S.

I haven't heard anything, I had mine on 1st October with no problems.
My practice nurse did say she had a big red circle around the site of the injection and a small lump mine was fine.
