WHAT????? So if your consultant does all the hard work on your hba1c, your gp practice gets the cash?

I'm shocked thinking of all the money they get for people with medical conditions

Ah yes... but we are rather expensive to keep - and for the most part it's their prescription budget that's at the sharp end (as many who struggle with tight-fisted GPs well know!)

I know, I saw how much my insulin costs but we are worth it 😎

I get mine each year through work (I'm a nurse)
I've had proper flu once, several years ago and before I was diabetic. It's an experience I NEVER want to repeat again!
Even if I wasn't diabetic I would still get the flu jab!

Exactly, if you have ever had 'flu' ......you would get the flu jab every year! 13 years on the trot for me after having flu....was ill for 2 months!

This might come across as a stupid question BUT...does everyone on this forum get the flu jab at the start of winter?

I have been a T1 for almost 20 years, have never had the flu jab and have never gotten the flu (well not up to now anyway..) I admit I am 'slightly sceptical' of these things but would be interested to hear what you fellow diabs think !

I did get a flu jab, but got loads of chest infections. Since not having one I have had far fewer chest infections so will not be havig one again.

It is a personal call and people should base having one or not having one on theri own personal circumstances.

Had flu twice and NEVER want it again. First in line for jab every year. Is there anyone out there who's had 'proper' flu, who thinks there's no point having the jab ?

Interestingly Alison , I'm violently alergic to duck eggs but that's ok apparently, it's only hens eggs that are the problem ! :D
