Just wanted to put a reminder up to you all that the flu jabs are fast approching had my letter this morning and im booked in tomorrow.

I had mine this morning.......arm is now feeling a bit sore🙂

Do you have to have this done? I always get a nasty cold/flu straight after having this done and if possible would like to avoid it this year? It's the only time I'm poorly.

Cheers for the reminder, I will need to phone to see when they can fit me in.........

Tumble, its up to you whether you get it, I didn't up until now, and that's because I actually got the real flu, as opposed to a cold.........and it was bad, very bad..........so I cant wait to get mine.......yay............

Not sure if it is compulsery no, but as always they advise you to have it as we are in the high risk category.
Ill never forget having mine last year had an ambulance out to my house by 10pm 🙄 x

My surgery hasnt got them in yet :(

After having flu (not man flu!)11years ago, I never go without the flu jab.....I never want flu again....jeez, took a month to get better!

Thanks for the reminder. I already asked and my doctor is not taking bookings until October

Thanks for the reminder, seeing nurse next week, she tends to do it on the spot - hopefully 🙂
🙂

Got mine booked in next month.🙂

I have also had bad experiences following the flu jab, which I put down to the amount of effort the immune system has to put toward creating the flu antibodies making me more vulnerable to other infections.

I tend to take each year on a case-by-case basis as I have yet to have flu (as far as I know). I had it for the Swine flu year, and haven't decided yet about this year.

Bit of a high-risk strategy I know, but with kids in the house bringing in 'interesting' germs from school, every time I had the jab I came down with some nasty lurgy which messed my levels up itself!

I'm usually pretty good at avoiding most things. My whole family had swine flu last Christmas and I never got it. The nurse told me that the flu vac had no effect on swine flu, how true this is I do not know. Plus all of the other bugs and illnesses that people get at work I always seem to avoid too.

It really is a personal choice, in terms of dealing with high blood sugars when I had the flu, I managed both high BG and ketone production no problem, just felt like death warmed up........

this year will be my first time.........😱

Haven't heard anything up here yet it could be soon tho hope no one gets to big a reaction from the jab.

Not sure I will bother this year. Used to be ok with the flu jab but the last two years it has made me really ill, dizzy and faint for a week and have been sick both times. Would rather not get sick again! Will ask the GP about it I think

Really? I was told that year before's (when swine flu was everywhere) vaccinated against Swine Flu

As far as I was told last year's was a double dose one for the most likely strain of the year, but also to cover SF.

Amazing that we are all told different things!

mine is booked 12 Oct..
