I have been pleasantly surprised in that i used to hate Flora & similar types of spreads as they just didn't taste very good. But being a type 2, it was time to sort out my diet. So reluctantly, i brought some Flora Light. I am not sure what they done with it, but it's very nice. So i thought lets look at this a little deeper & found its got no trans fats, 40cals per 10g, 0.5 carbs per 100g & all sound good. Oh!, the 10g will just do 2 slices for a sandwich or 1 piece of toast.
So this is my spread for the future.

Thanks for that Chris, @collectors ! 😛

I’m on a low fat diet as I have fatty liver problems & can’t digest fats very well especially saturated & trans fats. So, I’ll give this a go! I have very little fat in my diet now & diary & spreads are the only obvious fats I have. I don’t like the taste of them low fat spreads & would rather not have any on my sandwiches but, I need SOME fats, as GP & dietician have said for essential vitamins etc.

So, I’ll give this one a go! 🙂

Oh - as a type two I sorted out my diet - I use butter - but for a long time I did not eat any bread, because there was none that could cope with - then Lidl had the protein rolls - so I put the butter on them....
Now I can get a couple of breads which are just under 4 gm of carb per slice, and I seem to be able to cope with that glucose wise - but now I am back to normal it is so easy to put on weight. Sigh.

One thing i tried for a sandwich fix was using wraps. I was getting the same pleasure but noticed i wasn't using any marg/buttery spread.

Do you check your blood glucose after eating the sandwiches?
Bread and breadlike substances do tend to be problematic for many type twos.
