Five Common Objections to Mandatory Vaccination for Healthcare Workers: A Medical Ethicist's View

Hi Mike,

This "if you're vaccinated" vs "unvaccinated" is the basic argument put forward at the moment. However, vaccination is either through a jab or through catching the virus.

If you have had covid19 then one can rightly claim to be vaccinated.....naturally.

There are kids who are developing Covid twice in fairly quick succession according to the news this morning - so perhaps having had Covid is like having been jabbed once, but not had the second or booster?

I know there are some data that suggest natural response to infection is at least as powerful as vaccine, but I don’t know whether those data predate Delta and Omicron (otherwise how are these kids getting it twice??)

As a nurse my daughter has had it three times before getting her booster. Hopefully that's the end of it now for her run.

I said a very bad word when I read that @Bruce Stephens . We're not just carrying the risk for ourselves, but what if you have it and stand next to someone in the supermarket who is vulnerable, or cough on your granny when you've got it and pass it on.
I know I don't want it, despite having 2 jabs and a booster, any more than I want the colds and flu that used to sweep my office pre-pandemic, when some "brave soldier" would struggle in, full of cold and pass it round to everyone.

Sounds like the plan is being dropped, according to the news tonight.
