Wife was out shopping today & found a fish & chips ready meal reduced to clear. Apparently only 18g carb, which surprised me. They are small portions though. I will test to see how it goes. The biggest problem is that she also picked up a couple of Belgium Buns too. I don't have to have one, but can I resist?😉

Try everything once. If you don't like it don't have it again. Life is a never ending lesson ( and you can pass on your findings to the rest of us)

My wife made a mistake. That was per 100g. Per serving it was 60g carb!😱 I had already eaten them bu this point & had half a Belgian bun. And the results are the worst I've ever had! Before meal 4.3, 2 hours later 12.8!😱 That's one hell of a spike! This morning back down to 4.6.🙂

Oh dear! Lesson learned 😱 Great to see how well you have returned to an excellent level this morning 🙂 It does just go to show though, that despite achieving great control, you do still need to take care. The odd spike won't harm you, but it is alarming when you see them - had a few myself! 😱

A treat is fine once in a while. There's no reason why you have to eat a "suggested portion" size - you could eat all the fish and only some of the chips, donating rest to a fellow human diner or cutting into pieces to leave on bird table or gorund if you have hedgehog visitors.

Don't forget half the belgian bun too. I'm sure that didn't help.😱

Thanks Mark. We have all learnt from your test. You sacrificed for the greater good (and no doubt enjoyed it). Now onward and upward (or should that be downward?)

I dont mind sacrificing my health for the good of others.:D

I seem to do OK with fish and chips (apart from the gym visit needed to burn them off). Did some testing last time I had them and was 4.8 before, 5.2 after 30min, 6.5 after 60 min, 5.2 after 90 min and 5.0 after 120 min

Blame the Belgian bun 🙂
