hi everyone, seen my dsn for the first time wednesday, shes told me toreduce my insulin before breakfeast from 18 to 16 to keep sugar levels between 4-7 and tea time from 26-24 and sugar levels between 6-9 for bed time, but my last 3 results for morning have been all above 8-9,which she wants between 4-7,so in taking lessits making my morning one higher, cant get my head round it,so dont know wether or not to put it back to 26.

Hi Joe
I reckon your DSN knows more about your situation than me (or anyone else on this board), so can you report back your results to her and and ask for further guidance? It seems fair to base any changes on more data than 3 morning readings. Also, worth noting down what you are eating, activity levels, stress etc to see if there's any pattern there. Hope you can speak to your DSN next week.

Joe, the reasoning behind the cutting back of your insulin is because the nurse suspects you are going hypo in the night this then makes your liver dump glucose.
Have you tested your blood sugar durring the night?
If you haven't it's a good idea to do so, then you will know whats happening and can act accordingly.
I hope that explanation is a bit clearer than mud 🙂

Sue
