This might sound like a stupid question but have you put the battery in or taken out the protective strip. I've known many an academic who said something was not working and they hadn't switched it on.
Yes, I can understand why you ask. I have done all of this and the machine works, it just doesn’t tell me my readings, it has different symbols that you are supposed to choose which I did, but still no bgLoL

Is there a YouTube video demonstrating how to use it?

Have you gone through the set up procedure as described in the user guide, so setting date and time and reminder alarms and units.
If you have and still no joy then take out the battery and start again with the set up protocol if still nothing then send back as faulty.

OK LL I’ll try that again

LL this morning, I went through the entire procedure again, you are not given a great deal of time to set each step before it switches off again, but also it has steps I am personally not interested in, so trying to bypass those took forever. Success at last, so I’m sorted. I bought this one because you get 100 strips for under £15, but I still have my Braun Omnitest, which is a dawdle to set up.

Good you have it sorted, I have the older version Codefree which must be less complicated.
A bit like the washing machine which has 20 or more wash options and I never use more than 1 or 2. Some things are just over loaded with features which most people never need but it is 'a good' selling point.
