First holiday abroad since Type 1 ....

so I spoke to my DSN about the basics e.g. How do I store my insulin as I'm camping in a hot country and been advised about my letter t cover me travelling with needles and insulin. I also was told to take double of everything and split between me and my partner in case I lose one. Any thing else I should do/know and advice for me? I'm going to a festival in Czech Republic for 5 days so very basic provisions in the middle of a field. What travel insurance does anyone recommend?
 
Well a Frio pack for the insulin so that's easy! So is Travel Insurance, just go online and get a quote - don't know whether you are travelling independently or a coach journey - but for instance, Eurotunnel do Travel cover for short enough periods at very reasonable cost. Possibly, ferry companies might also but I don't know. It shouldn't cost you any more than anyone else! However you do need to be in possession of your current EHIC and make sure if you need a hospital, to go to one that accepts EHIC - not a private Clinic.

Pardon my arrogance what is a Fri pack and what is EHIC?
 
Frio packs - they are wallets that cool whatever you put in them, by evaporation - see https://friouk.com/.

The EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) is what entitles us to obtain the same medical treatment in Europe that a citizen of that country is entitled to themselves. Without this, the hospital cannot get paid for the treatment they give you - they have to reclaim it from the patients home country. To get one apply to www.nhs.uk/ehic - they are free. Please note that most Travel insurance policies require you to have one of these, otherwise they will not pay for that portion of the cost which the EHIC would have paid. Please also note that most other countries - the 'locals' do have to pay to consult a medic, and for the drugs they need - some or all of which they can reclaim.
