First HBa1c result

Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Alice had her first consultant appointment at the hospital. HBa1c is 46 all very pleased. It was good to go into the hospital, rather than just talk on the phone. She has put back on a stone which the consultant announced to the room in a tone which you would use when handing out a school prize. Alice was not impressed. No 16 year old girl wants to be told they have put on a stone in 3 months! She is in now normal healthy weight for her height, which might have been a better way of putting it. Still all good news

Thanks Stitch, but nah - she is totally smashing me out of the park. She gets annoyed if her libre shows she is less than 90percent on range (which isn't very often). She will be smirking on the other side of her face once her honeymoon period is over!
 
That’s great results, I manage to keep myself 75% of the time on my libre. They are great devices, just be careful for the rise after honeymoon period 🙂
 
Well I'll say the equivalent to you as a woman said to me one day after telling me her friend had accidentally cut his toe off one day, cos he hadn't noticed any pain when he cut it and I said that isn't always a problem in diabetes so don't assume it's always going to happen to people - for instance I've had D for 30+ years and no complications whatsoever yet ..... Well Steph - perhaps Alice's diabetes isn't as bad as yours!

Thats great news Steph, Alice seems to have taken it so well which shows a huge maturity for her age. I think she has a great role model which helps.
