I'm coming upto a year in November T2 with off the scale readings my eyes were already shot so changed diet the day they told me. Over time I have settled into the new eating habits and have found that if I'm hungry or feel deprived I am doing something wrong so the food I now eat I love and actually look forward to meals I also found that there is often a way around the foods you miss,@NotWorriedAtAll is a master of this, mine was bread, but I just make my own so you can eat well. One thing that goes against everything I have been told in the past is I eat full fat so full fat Greek yog/milk etc which helps keeps me feeling full.

Hi there I’m actually loving it very much I have only had 3 pieces of bread all week and I’ve managed to keep my bloods below 9.0 for most of the week and I’m eating around 2000 calories a day and not hungry at all I’m actually stuffed and eating more than ever before I have no idea if I’m doing it right but it’s working for my bloods I think I’m having around 150g - 250g of carbs a day these are my evening meals for my first week on my diabetes journey there is one missing it was new potatoes salad and tuna steak

Excellent. Those meals look great but most importantly you are enjoying your food by the sound of it, not feeling deprived and your levels are slowly and safely reducing. Big thumbs up from me.

Those look very appetising meals, you will have to see how your levels go, but they still look quite high carb so you might want to gradually reduce the carbs to nearer to the 150g per day over a period of a few weeks. You may do fine on that amount but it would be far too much rice and potatoes for me and I would have more veg.
The main thing is you are enjoying the food.

Looks good you just got to find your sweet spot regarding carbs, mine is about 80g's per day some 20g's some 120g's all our bodys are different.

Good job @Brian12388 your enjoying food that is the key for permanent change.
